Inflation seen consolidating at around 3% in 2015: PHD Chamber

Inflation worries are behind us and current demand and supply dynamics indicate that inflation will consolidate at around 3% (average) in 2015, Said Mr. Alok B Shriram, President, PHD Chamber in a press statement issued here today.

Decline in international commodity prices at this juncture is a major advantage for the Indian economy as it will not only help in the softening of fuel prices but also positively impact the other segments of the Indian economy including transportation and food prices, he said.

Decline in the prices of raw material will help firms to produce more with favourable price cost margins and increased supply of goods will help inflation to remain in comfort zone, he added

However, the government should remain focused on checking hoarding and price movements of essential commodities to maintain food inflation in a comfortable trajectory, said Mr. Shriram.
