PHDCCI has established four Intellectual Property Facilitation Centres (IPFCs) in New Delhi, Amritsar, Jammu & Kashmir, and Shimla, with the support of the Office of the Development Commissioner, Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME), Government of India, under the MSME Innovative Scheme.

The IPFCs play a proactive role in promoting awareness and understanding of Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs) among entrepreneurs and MSMEs. They undertake a range of awareness campaigns, capacity-building initiatives, training programmes, workshops and knowledge-sharing activities for industry, entrepreneurs and relevant enforcement agencies.

The IPFCs are also actively engaged in promoting the greater adoption and strategic use of Intellectual Property by MSMEs, while strengthening the capacity of business and industry associations and other public, private and civil society institutions to provide effective IP-related support and services to the MSME ecosystem.

Through IP Help Desks, targeted outreach programmes and one-to-one facilitation, the Centres assist MSMEs in understanding the importance of protecting and leveraging their intellectual assets. The IPFCs provide information, guidance and facilitation services relating to Patents, Trademarks, Copyrights, Industrial Designs and Geographical Indications (GIs).

The PHDCCI IPR Team, comprising domain experts and professionals, provides end-to-end guidance to MSMEs in identifying, protecting and leveraging their intellectual property assets as a tool for innovation, competitiveness, market expansion and sustainable growth.

The IPFCs also facilitate eligible MSMEs in accessing reimbursement support for IPR-related expenses, in accordance with the applicable Scheme Guidelines, thereby helping businesses reduce the cost barriers associated with IP protection.

Through these initiatives, PHDCCI, with the support of the Ministry of MSME, Government of India, remains committed to strengthening the Intellectual Property ecosystem for MSMEs. The IPFCs aim to enable enterprises to effectively protect, manage and leverage their intellectual property assets, foster innovation, enhance competitiveness, facilitate market access and contribute to sustainable business growth.
