MoU signed between PHDCCI & QCI-NABL, set to revolutionize industry practices & foster economic growth through enhanced quality standards

 

The National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL), in collaboration with the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI), orchestrated a landmark event on 24th April, 2024 at Hotel Hyatt, Ahmedabad, aimed at elucidating the significance of NABL accreditation and its far-reaching benefits for businesses across the country. NABL is part of Quality Council of India and provides third-party accreditation to Conformity Assessment Bodies {Testing Laboratories/ Calibration Laboratories / Medical Testing Laboratories / Proficiency Testing Provider (PTP) / Reference Material Producers (RMP)}

The Chief Guest for the Seminar, Shri Jaxay Shah, Chairperson, Quality Council of India shared the vision of QCI in working towards improving quality in all the sectors. He said that we must ensure to promote sustainable practices and maintain highest standards of quality to make Viksit Bharat @ 2047. He spoke about the pivotal role of accreditation in advancing India’s quality infrastructure and fostering a culture of excellence across industries. His visionary insights resonated with the audience, reaffirming the collective commitment to quality and compliance. He also reiterated QCI commitments towards making Viksit Bharat by 2047 and he also assured that QCI will play a pivotal role in improving the quality life of our citizens.

One of the key highlights of the Seminar was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between PHDCCI and NABL, symbolizing their steadfast commitment to advancing quality and accreditation initiatives in the region. This strategic partnership sets the stage for collaborative endeavors aimed at empowering businesses and fostering sustainable growth. The primary objective of this MoU is to create awareness about the benefits of NABL accreditation which can improve the quality of products and services of the industry members. The MoU was signed by Mr. N. Venkateswaran, CEO of NABL and Dr. Ranjeet Mehta, Executive Director of PHDCCI in the presence of Shri Jaxay Shah, Chairperson, Quality Council of India and other senior industry leaders.

Shri Hemant Shah, Chairman of PHDCCI Gujarat Chapter formally welcomed all the dignitaries and delegates on behalf of PHDCCI and shared his insightful thoughts. emphasized the significance of partnering with NABL. He stated that “This aligns with PHDCCI’s commitment to fostering excellence and quality in Indian industry. Through this collaboration, we look forward to facilitating smoother accreditation processes for our members, thereby enhancing their competitiveness and contributing to the overall growth of the Indian economy.”

Mr. N. Venkateswaran, CEO of NABL, extended his heartfelt gratitude to PHDCCI for collaborating with NABL for promoting the awareness about the importance of quality and how the industry will benefit from the accreditation process. He also thanked the esteemed gathering and underscored the pivotal role of accreditation in ensuring the highest standards of quality and competence in testing and calibration laboratories.

Dr. Ranjeet Mehta, Executive Director of PHDCCI, said that the MoU between NABL and PHDCCI is a landmark achievement for ensuring good quality of products and life for the people. It holds immense significance for the industry as it manifests collaboration on improving quality standards, promoting best practices and fostering innovation within the industry. This will help build greater trust in the businesses and society at large, he added.

His insightful perspectives underscored the collaborative efforts between PHDCCI and NABL to champion excellence in laboratory services and bolster industry competitiveness. Assuring the commitment of PHDCCI to work towards excellence in quality across sectors to make our industry globally competitive, Dr Mehta thanked QCI and NABL for providing PHDCCI an opportunity to work together towards excellence in quality across sectors and regions across the country.

The seminar also encompassed a comprehensive overview of the benefits of NABL accreditation, elucidating the process for enrollment directly through NABL’s website. Attendees were enlightened on the myriad advantages, ranging from enhanced reliability and customer confidence to increased market opportunities and regulatory compliance.

A stimulating Q&A session ensued, featuring valuable insights from stakeholders including Shri Sandip Shah, Managing Director of SUPRATECH Labs Ahmedabad, and other dignitaries. Their inputs enriched the dialogue, offering practical perspectives on navigating the accreditation landscape and harnessing its potential for business growth.

The Seminar was moderated by Dr. A Raj, CEO, NBQP. The event culminated on a high note, with Ms. Malika Gope, Director of NABL and Vote of Thanks by Dr. Nasir Jamal, Sr. Secretary of PHDCCI, to the participants for their active engagement and contributions. The conference, attended by 140 esteemed stakeholders, served as a catalyst for fostering collaboration and driving excellence in the realm of quality assurance.
