Haryana: Driving India’s Industrial Transformation through Strategic Innovation
The PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI) has released a comprehensive roadmap titled “Haryana: Gateway to Northern India’s Industrial Transformation“, positioning the state as a cornerstone of the national economy. Released during a high-level dialogue with the Chief Minister of Haryana, the white paper outlines an ambitious vision to scale Haryana’s economy to $1 trillion by 2047, reflecting its pivotal role in India’s industrial transformation.
A Catalyst for Business and Commerce
Haryana’s trajectory from being the “Bread Basket of India” to a vibrant industrial powerhouse is a testament to its proactive policy framework. The report emphasizes that the state is no longer just an agrarian leader but a preferred destination for global business and commerce. With a Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) showing consistent growth, Haryana has carved a niche in high-tech sectors, including automobiles, IT/ITeS, and electronic hardware. PHDCCI highlights that the state’s “Open Door Governance” and ease-of-doing-business reforms are essential for sustaining this momentum.
Strategic Roadmap: Infrastructure and Emerging Sectors
To achieve the $1 trillion milestone, the white paper identifies several growth levers:
- Next-Gen Technology: A focus on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Green Hydrogen to modernize manufacturing.
- MSME Empowerment: Strengthening the backbone of the state’s economy to generate 5 million jobs over the next two decades.
- Industrial Harmony: Maintaining stable industrial relations. PHDCCI remains at the forefront, mediating between the government and industry stakeholders to ensure a seamless regulatory environment.
Strengthening Northern India’s Economic Fabric
As the “Voice of Industry,” PHDCCI underscores the need for deeper policy alignment and institutional collaboration. By focusing on advanced manufacturing clusters and logistics hubs, Haryana is set to enhance its competitiveness as a global investment destination. This transformative journey not only bolsters the state’s profile but acts as a primary engine for the broader economic prosperity of Northern India.
