INTERACTION WITH DIPLOMATS FROM EL SALVADOR

 

PHDCCI (PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry) in collaboration with the Sushma Swaraj Institute of Foreign Service (SSIFS) organized an interaction with Diplomats from El Salvador at PHD House, New Delhi. The delegation comprised of 36 diplomats from El Salvador.

 

Colonel Saurabh Sanyal, Secretary General of PHDCCI, in his welcome address, emphasized the vast potential for cooperation and synergy between the two nations. He highlighted various opportunities for collaboration and growth in sectors such as electric vehicles (EVs), infrastructure, Information Technology & IT-Enabled Services (ITES), pharmaceuticals, and more. He emphasized the importance of building strong bilateral ties to foster economic growth and development for both countries.

 

Ms. Laura Marlene Moran Contreras, Director General of Foreign Service from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of El Salvador, extended her heartfelt appreciation to PHDCCI on behalf of the visiting diplomats for organizing this vital interaction. She expressed her gratitude for the warm hospitality and acknowledged the tremendous potential for cooperation between the two nations. Ms. Laura emphasized that such engagements are crucial in fostering a deeper understanding of each other’s strengths and challenges, leading to a stronger and more productive bilateral relationship.

 

The interaction witnessed enthusiastic participation from various sectors that see the potential for expanding their footprint in both India and El Salvador. Representatives from the electric vehicle sector highlighted the need for technology transfer and joint ventures to promote sustainable mobility solutions. Moreover, the Information Technology & IT-Enabled Services (ITES) sector presented the possibility of knowledge-sharing and establishing IT hubs in both nations. The pharmaceutical industry also expressed its keen interest in exploring avenues for research collaborations, generic drug production, and addressing healthcare challenges collectively.

 

Mr. Gerardo Heriberto Perez Figueroa, Director of Diaspora and Development from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of El Salvador, delivered the vote of thanks, conveying that the event served as a significant step in further developing bilateral trade and investment opportunities between India and El Salvador. It provided a platform for businesses and diplomats to identify common areas of interest and collaborate for mutual benefits. He said that with the dedication and enthusiasm displayed during this interaction, both nations are poised to embark on a path of unprecedented economic growth and development.
