Commerce Secretary Mr. Sunil Barthwal advocates level playing field for all Indian Industries and assures complete Government support during the meeting with PHDCCI delegation

 

PHDCCI Delegation led by Mr Mr. Saket Dalmia, President, PHDCCI meets Mr. Sunil Barthwal, Secretary, Ministry of Commerce, Government of India, to discuss important concerns of Indian Industry, at Vanijya Bhawan, New Delhi

Mr. Barthwal, Commerce Secretary lent an ear and reassured the Government’s commitment to foster a level playing field , along with extending unwavering support to boost the global competitiveness of the India industry.

While addressing the delegation, Mr Barthwal informed that the central government is actively working on various policy initiatives and reforms to support the growth of domestic industries, be it large corporates or MSMEs, to ensure that Indian companies can compete globally, on equal terms.

Consultations are being held with leading industry associations to understand their concerns and requirements. The aim is to create the right environment for local manufacturing, boost exports and make India a preferred investment destination, added Mr Barthwal

Mr. Dalmia welcomed the government’s reassuring words and constructive approach towards upliftment of the Indian industry. He said the industry is looking forward to more positive steps that can unlock the potential of different sectors.

During the meeting, discussions covered various crucial aspects, including incentive schemes for sectors like defence, electronics manufacturing, channels for continuous dialogue between government and industry, among other issues. Both sides agreed to have more such interactions for India’s economy to reach its optimum potential.
