No.PR-88 May 20, 2020 New Delhi Transparent, two-way communication in the organization can lead to the formulation of an emphatic formulation in the organization: Deliberated by domain experts in a webinar organized by PHD Chamber of Commerce and industry New Delhi, 20th May 2020: COVID-19 has disrupted the economy and business which has led to a change in the working of the organizations with the increase in the use of technology. In order to understand the nuances and way forward, PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry conducted an interactive webinar on “Business Strategies to Survive COVID and Thrive Afterward – Design Thinking and HR 4.0” with esteemed distinguished industry players. The session was in association with IFFCO. The eminent speakers who deliberated in the webinar were Mr. Salil Bhandari, Former President, PHD Chamber, and Managing Partner, BGJC and Associates LLP; Mr. R P Singh, Chair, HR & IR Committee, PHD, and Director HR & Legal, IFFCO; Mr. Anshul Dureja, Managing Director, Creating Vibes Pvt Ltd and Mr. Prem Singh, President, Group HR, JK Organization. Mr. Salil Bhandari, Former President, PHD Chamber, and Managing Partner, BGJC and Associates LLP while deliberating, mentioned that HR has come into focus during these times. The reach and usage of technology in the organization of different sectors will happen over a while. There will also be the need for thinking, planning, and strategizing which organization especially, HR needs to think depending on the nature and type of the organization. He also shared the industry insights, strategies to survive, and many more. He shared nine areas of focus for way forward viz. Customer centricity, Digital Interface, Services/ Product, Short Cycle Planning, Effective Mentoring, Communication, Identify Potential points of failure, People and Financial Literacy. Mr. R P Singh, Chair, HR & IR Committee, PHDCCI, and Director HR & Legal, IFFCO talked about HR 4.0 has been a topic of discussion from the past many years and now is the time to evolve the working of HR which can support the organization in these times. He said that in the current times, there is a need for digitization, technology advancement and innovation, machine learning, design thinking, AI, and many more. He said that the situation changed during COVID-19 and has changed the magnitude and thinking of organization functions and working. We need to understand that the future will be different and we need to prepare for it in advance through planning and strategizing. Mr. Prem Singh, President, Group HR, JK Organization shared his views on Working from Home in these difficult times. He also deliberated about the different tools available for making work from home more efficient and easier. He emphasized on managing anxiety & fear of people, building confidence and emotional connect. Mr. Anshul Dureja, Managing Director, Creating Values Pvt Ltd gave a detailed presentation of Business Strategies to thrive Post Covid-19 giving an industry overview and run through the different techniques adopted by the organization’s HR to make the organization better despite these times of business slowdown, cutoff, and firings. Mr. Pradeep Multani, Vice President, PHD Chamber in his welcome remarks mentioned that technology is the key engine that drives the success of organizations. There is an importance to evolve to perform better and keep origination streamlined. There is a change in the working models in the organization due to this unprecedented crisis. For HR professionals, this is a new opportunity to redefine and reconfigure the work relations for the organization’s health. There is a need to create new strategies and policies which help the organization to cope up with the change post-COVID-19 which HR Professionals need to focus upon. He also gave a formal vote of thanks to all the delegates and participants at the end of the webinar.
