PHDCCI & ITPO sign MoU for forthcoming 22nd IISE, 2019

PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI) and India Trade Promotion Organization (ITPO), Ministry of Commerce, Government of India, have signed an MoU as per which the Chamber has been appointed as Co-promoter for 22nd India International Security Expo, 2019, scheduled to be held from 3rd to 5th October here at Pragati Maidan. The MoU was signed between Chair, Defence and HLS Committee, PHDCCI, Mr Rajiv Bhatnagar and Executive Director, ITPO, Mr Deepak Kumar, is valid for two years and is extendable.

Chair, Defence and HLS Committee, PHDCCI, Mr Rajiv Bhatnagar in a press statement issued here said that the MoU envisaged mutual cooperation in the area of organizing Indian International Security Expo (IISE) and mobilizing participation for the fair. He further added that the PHD Chamber is working towards the Prime Minister’s vision of “Made in India – For The World”, which would help in indigenizing the defence assets besides that would also create job avenues in particular for MSME segment.

The ITPO will organize IISE at Pragati Maidan with PHDCCI as a co-promoter for the Expo in which leading players relating to defence and homeland security will take part not only from within the country but also from economies of scale of overseas land. One of the objectives of the Expo will be to support the ‘Make-in-India’ programme of Prime Minister Modi in defence and homeland security areas, said Mr Bhagnagar.

The Expo will attract participation from public and private sector of India Inc and its counterpart in foreign land but also enlist intensive partnership from policymakers including participation from armed forces, para-military forces, R&D centres, academia and various other stakeholders.

Representatives of various Embassies and High Commissions will also part take in the event to give it a global perspective, pointed out Mr Bhatnagar adding that the Expo would also explore immense possibilities so that India’s MSME sector gets a fair participation in it since this contribute a great deal to national GDP as well employment creation, concluded Mr Bhatnagar.
