No.PR-191 August 1, 2020 New Delhi Growth and Development of Delhi should be at the helm of attaining PM Modi’s vision of Aatma Nirbhar Bharat, Shri Adesh Kumar Gupta, Delhi BJP Chief We need to fulfill the dream of our Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for making India Aatma Nirbhar and Self-Reliant by going vocal for local and implementing Ease of Doing Business at ground zero in these times of COVID-19, said Mr. Adesh Kumar Gupta, Delhi BJP Chief, New Delhi in the session organized by PHD Chamber on ‘Role of PHD Chamber during COVID -19’. Our Prime Minister has the vision to convert a challenge into an opportunity and, this is the time to practically implement Ease of Doing Business at the grass root level across the industry and the country, said Mr. Adesh Kumar Gupta. Shri Adesh Kumar Gupta thanked PHD Chamber for its open hearted significant contribution toward PM Cares fund and other social contribution in the form of food distribution, providing ration, medical equipment, etc. to hospitals, needy, and other supporting staff. medical facility, fruit juices and bottled water distribution in these crucial times when the Country was in need. Assuring full support of the BJP government for raising the quality of infrastructure and standard of living of people and ensuring Ease of Doing Business at ground level, Shri Adesh Gupta mentioned that with more than 3.5 lakh factories in Delhi are the prevailing concern over attaining factory licenses by the industry from the MCD and other municipal authorities is a major challenge for the industry and the issue will be addressed very soon, said Shri Adesh Gupta. He mentioned that ‘Inspector Raaj’ needs to end in Delhi, we need to establish a proper process to mitigate this issue and support the Delhi industry to enhance their competency and capacity. The Fixed Charges charged to the Delhi citizens on their Electricity Bills is an issue of rising concern, we have done detailed planning on same and, we shall do everything to reduce the Fixed charges to Zero, as it is not a viable charge and should not be burdened on the people and industrialists in these crucial times due to COVID -19 when the industry has witnessed immense cash crunch and, the people have experienced salary and job cuts. We will fight along with the people of Delhi against these challenges together, said Shri Gupta. Waste disposal is another huge urban problem in Delhi. It results in pollution, health crisis’s and rotting smell to inhabitants of communities even from one kilometre away. The waste mountain at the border of Delhi is a black mark on the state’s image and a worrisome situation for all of us, said Shri Gupta. He highlighted that in the last six months the waste hillocks at the borders of Delhi has been reduced by 30 meters in height and we aim that by 2022 the waste mountains in the areas of Gazipur and others will become a flat ground which will solve other prevailing issues and health hazards caused due to it. We urge PHD Chamber to submit an effective representation on the issues and challenges faced by the people and industries of Delhi and we assure PHD Chamber to have our support at all times and we shall stand with you and work hand in hand to bring about an exceptional growth and development in Delhi, said Shri Gupta. Ms. Pooja Suri, BJP Delhi congratulated PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry for completing 115 years and deliberated about the noble steps undertaken by Chamber through its contribution towards PM Cares Fund and other social activities for cushioning the various sectors of the society in these challenging times of the pandemic. Dr. D K Aggarwal, President, PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, congratulated the chief guest Shri Adesh Kumar Gupta for being appointed as the Delhi BJP Chief and apprised him about the contribution of PHD Chamber in the process of Nation-building with the foundation of sound and inclusive economic policies. During this worldwide crisis caused due to Covid-19, PHD Chamber through its Member organizations, State Chapters, and Secretariat have responded to the appeal of the Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi , by coming forward with a significant contribution of Rs 528 crores to the PM Cares Fund set up for this purpose, along with distributing food, ration, medical equipment, etc. to hospitals, needy, and other supporting staff. Bringing the attention towards the issues and challenges faced by the people and industries of Delhi, Dr. Aggarwal stated that Delhi is faced with the major question of who does the state belong to, as there are multiple municipal authorities like the NDMC, MCD, SDMC and Cantonment Zone among others. To boost the morale of the industry in Delhi, bringing in a state of the art technology for Delhi’s infrastructure and attracting global investments into Delhi, we seek the help of the government to address the challenges faced by the industry at a war footing front, said Dr. Aggarwal. Throwing light on the prevailing challenges faced by the industry we need to promote single-window clearances for each authority, Time-bound services for granting of permission to the industry, Simplification of the licensing process as also advised by the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ,sanctioning permission for running warehousing or storage facilities in Delhi legally and abolishing the inspector Raaj that has been prevailing in Delhi since long, among others said Dr. Aggarwal. Mr. Sanjay Aggarwal, Sr. Vice President, PHD Chamber while giving the formal vote of thanks to the esteemed delegates and participants, mentioned that PHD Chamber has always been and continued to support the government in the process of Nation building and attaining PM Modi Ji’s vision of making India an Atma Nirbhar Bharat. He suggested that there needs to be one time process with simplified registration and easy digital process.
