Inaugural Session:

India’s industry has to take the sankalp to enhance the size and scale, Yahi samay hai, sahi samay hai,  Hon’ble Union Home and Cooperation Minister of India, Shri Amit Shah, at PHDCCI 118th Annual Session 2023

 

29th September 2023, NEW DELHI: Addressing the 118th Annual Session of PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI), Hon’ble Union Minister of Home Affairs & Union Minister of Cooperation, Shri Amit Shah, noted that the current time marks, the bhor of Amrit kaal for India, where the energy generated post G20 heralded by the success of Chandrayaan 3, Mission Aditya L1 to the Sun, 33% Women Reservation Bill. The theme of the PHDCCI’s Annual Session this year was “Rising India: Yahi Samay Hai, Sahi Samay Hai Amrit Kaal of Unprecedented Growth.”

 

He said that under the leadership of the Honourable PM Shri Narendra Modi, the roots of democracy have become deeper as the result of continuity of policies generating suraksha, rapid development, capital expenditure of more than 10 lakh  crore, more than 100 airports, making India a lucrative destination for investments.

 

This is a proud moment for India, he said, where we have more than 50% share in the digital transactions globally, stand at the 1st position on the global platform for pulses, milk and jute production, leading the way for startups, unicorns, semiconductor production and many more sectors.

 

Further, he said that the World is looking at India and India is shining as the vibrant growth spot. He motivated the PDHCCI family to built a deep rooted network of ancillary industries, while taking advantage of the industry enabling ecosystem put in place by the present government. The industry needs to move from sankalp to sidhi taking advantage of the policy structure of the government including initiatives like the make in india, startup india and the infrastructural facilities, policy environment, MSME initiatives, easing of compliances, environment for innovation among many other initiatives.

 

Shri Sanjeev Agrawal, Senior Vice President of PHDCCI, introduced the Hon’ble Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, Shri Amit Shah, highlighting his significant contributions and leadership qualities, while highlighting his journey from a PVC Pipe manufacturer to setting up a strong hold on the country and the World. While introducing Shri Amit Shah, Shri Agrawal brought to limelight the significant milestones of the Government. He said that the present government is working for sabka sath sabka vikas marked by his visionary leadership, and political acumen. He is truly the man of action.

 

Shri Saket Dalmia, President, PHDCCI, felicitated the Hon’ble Home Minister & Minister of Cooperation and delivered the welcome & PHDCCI Annual SpeechHe expressed his gratitude to the Home Minister for accepting PHDCCI’s invitation for the Annual session. Shri Dalmia highlighted the shifting global dynamics, with India at the forefront, by saying that India will be the “sone ki chidya” again. Despite the challenges, India’s resilience and robustness have been demonstrated through its impressive GDP growth rates. The magnificent efforts of the Government have been supported by the industrious efforts of the Indian industrial sector, paving the way for ‘Amrit Kal’ . He said that under the able leadership of Honourable PM SHri Narendra Modi ji and Shri Amit Shah, Honourable Union Home and Cooperation Minister, we feel safe and strong. This is taking us to have atma  vishwas and leading to us being atma nirbhar.

The President proudly announced PHDCCI’s integral involvement in the G20 startup engagement group. He added that the PHD Chamber is actively contributing to the efforts by the government, the MSME sector with its bottom up approach, and women empowerment. He said that India is the land of opportunity, quality of life and innovation.

 

The inaugural session of PHDCCI’s 118th Annual Session 2023 ended with a vote of thanks by Shri Hemant Jain, Vice President, PHDCCI. Shri Jain expressed his gratitude and regards to Shri Amit Shah, Hon’ble Union Minister of Home Affairs & Union Minister of Cooperation, Government of India for his gracious presence.

29th September 2023, NEW DELHI: Industry entrepreneurs, representatives, academia have a key role to play in shaping the Nation and supporting transformation of the Indian Economy.

Shri Manoj Pande, also stated India recently concluded the Indo-Pacific Army Chief Conclave attended by 30 Indo-Pacific nations. He emphasized the importance of security in our international policy for continuous National progress. He also highlighted the efforts to enhance global outlook like strengthening  linkages for partner Nations, training exchange programs, promoting exports of indigenous defence equipment.

Shri Saket Dalmia, President, PHDCCI, welcomed chief guest of the session Shri Manoj PandeHe lauded his unquestionable dedication to Nation and sensitivity towards National issues.

Dr. Ranjeet Mehta introduced General Manoj Pandey, (PVSM, AVSM, VSM, ADC), Chief of the Army Staff (India) for his 4 decades of military career.

‘Vocal to Local ;Local to Global should be the strategy  to achieve the target of becoming largest economy by 2047: Shri Sarbananda Sonowal, Hon’ble Union Minister of Ports, Shipping & Waterways and Ayush, Government of India

29th September 2023, NEW DELHI: ‘In Amrit kaal, under the strong and visionary leadership of Hon’ble PM Narender Modi transformative reforms have been introduced. The reforms have lead to India achieving significant strides; ranking 5th largest economy, FDI flows has touched all time high at 83.57 billions USD, and India has become leader of globe due to Atma Nirbhar initiative of the government’ as stated by Shri Sarbananda Sonowal, Hon’ble Union Minister of Ports, Shipping & Waterways and Ayush, Government of India at the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s (PHDCCI) 118th Annual Session 2023 – Business Excellence Awards Ceremony.

The Hon’ble  Union Minister of Ports, Shipping & Waterways and Ayush, Government of India, who was the session’s Chief Guest, praised PHDCCI’s accomplishments. He stated that he is grateful to the Chamber members for encouraging industrial members and individuals to contribute to India’s economic journey.
He appreciated the policy initiatives of the government in the shipping and ports sector. He pointed out that ports have recorded a double digit growth. India has climbed to 34th place in the Logistic Performance Index in 2022. The ports modernisation, digitalisation, coastal community development made it possible to accelerate the progress. We are able to reduce average continental time, performing even better than the United States. Inland waterways are able to experience compounding growth of 1037 percent  and capacity of major ports have increased by 100 percent.
Shri Sonowal congratulated the winners for receiving excellence in their respective fields. He also released Postal stamp in honor of PHDCCI affiliate Mr. BM Aggarwal

Shri Saket Dalmia, President, PHDCCI, welcomed chief guest of the session Shri Sarbananda Sonowal and lauded his ideals of living a life. He added that his vision, leadership, and contributions to infrastructure development have been instrumental in shaping India’s connectivity and economic progress.
The PHDCCI’s 118th Year Book was also released at the same event. Dr. Ashish Chaudhry, Akash Healthcare Pvt. Ltd. (Managing Director) received the Distinguished Entrepreneur Award ( General Category), Mr. Gaurav Agarwal, Innovation Healthcare Pvt. Ltd (Managing Director) received the Distinguished Entrepreneur (MSME Category) and Mrs. Rajni Agarwal, PR Ecoenergy Ltd. (Promoter and Director) received the Outstanding Business Woman Award. Hindustan Zinc Ltd. received the Outstanding Contribution to Social Welfare Contribution Award. Mr. Ankit Kumar, Skye Air Mobility Pvt. Ltd. (CEO) received Outstanding Start-up Award. Dr. Kashi Nath Memani, Former Chairman and Country Managing Partner Ernst and Young LLP, India received Lifetime Achievement Award.

“From being a Marginal player in the past to a Major player today, India has arrived and is gaining momentum”, said Shri Hardeep Singh Puri, Honorable Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas and Union Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India at PHDCCI 118th Annual Session 2023

 

29th September 2023, NEW DELHI: Shri Hardeep Singh Puri, Honourable Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas and Union Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India, during the plenary session on Future-Proofing India as the World’s Sustainable Manufacturing Hub at the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s (PHDCCI) 118th Annual Session 2023,  said that India’s ingenuity and its value system supported by the enabling policy environment are making India’s growth story. The plenary session was centered on the topic, “Future-Proofing India as the World’s Sustainable Manufacturing Hub”. 

 

Shri Hardeep Singh Puri, Honourable Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas and Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs, stated that India is progressing towards becoming a manufacturing hub. India is leading the World in two wheeler manufacturing and is the second largest producer of steel, cement and coal. With the introduction of a targeted incentive scheme, the Production Linked Incentive Scheme, manufacturing and exports have grown. In the urban sector, the enhanced expenditure on urban schemes to 19 lakh crore, the expanded metro rail network, implementation of the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act and the restored faith in the real estate sector have changed the urban landscape. He mentioned that the refining capacity is increasing, biofuel blending will reach 20% level by 2025, 5 years ahead of its target of 2030, in the Indian energy sector.

 

Shri Saket Dalmia, President, PHDCCI, while welcoming Shri Hardeep Singh Puriexpressed his gratitude and addressed him as a diplomat and a deep thinker. He said that Shri Hardeep Singh Puri, Honourable Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas and Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs, heads the two most challenging portfolios, which have now reached the inflexion point of Yahi samay hai, Sahi samay hai.  He said that despite the global economic situations marked by COVID, geo-political crisis, price rise, India’s dependence on oil imports , Shri Hardeep Singh, Honourable Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas and Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs, has been able to get India its fuel. He stated that under the leadership of Shri Hardeep Singh Puri, Honourable Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas and Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs, the housing and urban sector, which were ridden with mistrust and shambles, has regained trust.

 

Shri Sanjeev Agrawal, Senior Vice President, PHD Chamber, presented the formal vote of thanks and said that Shri Hardeep Singh Puri, Honourable Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas and Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs, has handled the fuel and energy crisis with effective policy implementation. Quality and Collaboration are vital aspect for building a global brand says expert group at panel discussion focused on “Building Global Brands”

29th September 2023, NEW DELHI: The panel session at the 118th Annual Session 2023 of the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI), was centered on “Building Global Brands”, chaired by the panelist, Mr. Rajeev Juneja, Vice Chairman & Managing Director, Mankind Pharma Ltd , Mr. Abhishek Khaitan, Managing Director, Radico Khaitan Ltd. , and Mr Sujeet Kumar, Co-founder, Udaan.

In his welcome address at the session, Shri Saket Dalmia, President of PHDCCI pointed out that like the professionals in the session, the business mind set is always motivated and prepared for the hunch of new chances. The younger generation is inspired by their stories to create brands.

Mr. Rajeev Juneja, Vice Chairman & Managing Director, Mankind Pharma Ltd  shared his experience and  insights in building a successful brand in the pharmaceutical industry. He attributed his success to creativity and passion. He emphasized on bottom up approach while building his brand and highlighted the significance of training the locals in vernacular language.

Mr. Abhishek Khaitan, Managing Director, Radico Khaitan Ltd. shared his insights in brand building, particularly in the beverage industry and Radico’s success story as a global brand. He stated that his company’s goal is to make customers happy. After establishing the brand, they were listed in the Limca Book of Records within a year and, according to JP Morgan reports, experienced the fastest growth for two years.

Mr Sujeet Kumar, Co-founder, Udaan stated that their focus is to build a brand on the sidelines of ‘Make in India’. He shared his vision of taking UDAAN globally by leveraging technology. He said that the growth of UDAAN will be India centric.

The panel discussion was moderated by Ms. Parikshit Luthra. The session of PHDCCI’s 118th Annual Session 2023 ended with a vote of thanks by Shri Hemant Jain, Vice President, PHDCCI.

This is the era of disruption and chaos, thriving in chaos and scope of future is bright : says expert group at panel discussion on “Building Future Businesses”

29th September 2023, NEW DELHI:  The  panel session at the 118th Annual Session 2023 of the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI), which was centered on “Building Future Businesses “,chaired by the panelist Mr. Devansh Jain, Executive Director of INOXGFL Group, Mr. Deepak Jain, Chairman & Managing Director of Lumax Industries Ltd, Mr. Pushp Jain, Deputy Managing Director of KLJ Plasticizers Ltd, and Mr. Riju Jhunjhunwala, Chairman, Managing Director of RSWM Ltd.

Mr. Devansh Jain, Executive Director of INOXGFL Group, gave  insights on the strategies for futuristic and future ready businesses. He emphasized the pivotal role of renewable energy sources in shaping a sustainable future. He emphasized the importance of technology utilization as a cornerstone for future success. He urged businesses to integrate technology seamlessly into their operations while maintaining a strong commitment to sustainability.

Mr. Deepak Jain, Chairman & Managing Director of Lumax Industries Ltd, shared his vision for leading companies into the future. He stated that the automotive industry is a major contributor to the gross national product and highlighted the industry’s unwavering commitment to a comprehensive shift towards electric vehicles. Mr. Jain’s insights shed light on the dynamic landscape of the automotive sector and its determination to embrace electric mobility.

Mr. Pushp Jain, Deputy Managing Director of KLJ Plasticizers Ltd, gave his insights on the dynamics of future-proofing businesses in a competitive landscape. He emphasized the forthcoming innovations in the plastics industry that promise to mitigate environmental impact, making plastics more eco-friendly. Mr. Jain highlighted the vast growth opportunities on the horizon.

Mr. Riju Jhunjhunwala, Chairman, Managing Director of RSWM Ltd, gave his thoughts on building businesses that thrive in the future. He emphasized the immense potential of the textile industry. He also highlighted India’s abundant and cost-effective labor force, making the nation an attractive hub for labor-intensive industries like textiles. As the largest cultivator of cotton globally, India’s textile industry has significant room for growth.Furthermore, he acknowledged the government’s substantial support for the man-made fiber sector.

The Panel concluded on the note that this is the era where India is looking at growth despite the chaos, this is the era for business to thrive in chaos in the future.

29th September 2023, NEW DELHI: The panel session at the 118th Annual Session 2023 of the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI), which was centered on “Inspiring Women Leaders, Business & Beyond

Ms. Ritu Dalmia, Celebrity Chef & Co-Owner, Diva Restaurant shared her experience of being in a male dominated culinary field at the age of twenty. She said that you need to prioritize yourself to become what you want to be. She emphasized to have a say in decision making and believe in yourself as you will be breaking a lot of walls while building yourself up. She pointed out the amazing emotional quotient that women are blessed with which makes them better leaders and managers. At last, she concluded the session by saying that “ If you are a pioneer, don’t expect the crowd to chase you ahead”.

Ms. Ruchi Kalra, Co-Founder, OfBusiness emphasized on the importance of believing in yourself and accepting the challenges coming in the journey of becoming a leader. She highlighted that women are the best cash flow managers and asserted that no society is complete without all stakeholders participating individually. She concluded that “don’t juggle, just believe in yourself and have gratitude.”

Ms. Shaili Chopra, Founder, Gytree & SheThePeopleTV focused on the importance of the voice of women in decision making and gender parity. Gender equality is about getting your own level playing field in all dimensions whether it’s about opportunity, recognition or accountability. She concluded that one doesn’t need rocket science to be successful. There is no replacement to hard work.

The panel discussion was moderated by Ms. Ritika Jhanji Jagtiani , TV Anchor & Presenter.
