No.PR-183 July 30, 2020 New Delhi “Women Empowering Women” PHD Chamber Commerce Of Commerce and Industry, Bihar Chapter and Woman Entrepreneurship Committee, PHDCCI New Delhi In Association with AMWAY organized a webinar on “Taking Wings: Empowering Women Inspiring Change”. The webinar focused on “Women empowerment” which has now become the buzzword today with women working alongside men in all spheres. They profess an independent outlook, whether they are living inside their home or working outside. The Webinar aimed to provide priceless opportunity to hear from seasoned business owners, entrepreneurs and experts during informative discussions and identify growth strategies, business opportunities and resources for their entrepreneurial ventures besides conversing and connecting with peers. With steady increase in the number of working women, they have gained financial independence, which has given them confidence to lead their own lives and build their own identity. They are successfully taking up diverse professions to prove that they are second to none in any respect. Welcoming the distinguished participants and eminent speakers Dr. Aruna Abhey Oswal, Chairperson, WE Committee, PHDCCI and Chairperson, Abhey Oswal Group (Oswal Greentech Ltd) said that today’s women want to get out of the house and do something, the woman are now contributing in every field, PHD Chamber Women Empowerment Committee helps such women and provide hand holding for their empowerment. She said that no woman is without power, she just needs encouragement and support from family and society as well to unlock their power . Delivering the Presidential address Dr. D. K. Aggarwal, President, PHDCCI appreciated the theme of the webinar, to which he said, was a very appropriate, concerning with day to day practical problems and issues with woman. “We should provide a platform according to the honor and ability of women. India is still far behind in terms of giving equal rights to women as only 24 percent womens are working in our country and women employees get 37 percent less salary then a Man employee, we need to pay attention to this – he added Mr. Rajat Banerji, National Head, Corporate Affairs, Amway India, said in his address that women accounted for over 55 percent of the entire Amway network, emphasizing on women empowerment and women entrepreneurship. Introduction of Speakers & Moderation of the session was done by Ms Vertica Dvivedi, Co-Chairperson, WE Committee, PHDCCI and Director, Big Sea Marcom India Pvt. Ltd. She also created a platform for the eminent Speakers and participants through question and answer round. Ms. Shilpi Sinha Founder and Chief Executive Officer Milk India stated in her address that India is the highest milk producing country in the world but we are behind in terms of quality. Therefore, the challenge was to provide pure milk to the children of the society. Women can do a better job if they will be provided with opportunities. 19-year-old Ms. Sweety Kumari is an international player and captain of the Bihar Rugby team has been awarded by the state Sports Award many times. She has also bagged award by the government of India as Most Influential Youth Award . She told that it was a very difficult task for her to get out of the village in the beginning, but there was continuous support of her parents and in spite of having faced all the odds she gradually got success. Ms. Akanksha Singh Founder and Chief Executive Officer Swayambhu Innovative Solutions Private Limited shared her experience as how during one of her projects, she went to the village where the situation of women hygiene is worst and from there she got the idea to do something for the health and hygiene of women. Mrs. Sunita Kumari is associated with Amway and she is a woman entrepreneur doing business independently also shared her view on women empowerment. She stressed how women can be home maker and successful entrepreneur as well. Ms. Nikita Das, a Public Relations Specialist in Digital Marketing and Hotel Business, shared her experiences with everyone about how she maintained her struggle even during the Corona Lock Down. Ms. Jyoti Mishra, Sr. News Reporter, News 18, sharing her success mantras said that each and every women today is bundle of power pack, the need of the hour is to know their own potential and climb the ladder of success with self confidence. Motivational speaker Mrs. Shagun Singhal congratulating all women leaders on the board, said in her address that “every woman needs an inspiration and are unique, which makes her to recognize herself and her potential”. Key learning for all the women is hard work, passion and be focused will make achieve goal. Dr. Rajni Verma, Director, AIMIT Business College, shared the inspiring story of her struggle and success with everyone. She said Women Empowerment means empowering women with the education, learning, developing skills, self confidence so that they can have better life. Education and learning plays most important role in empowering women. Ms. Harpreet Kaur,(IPS), Commandant BMP- 5,Bihar, sharing her inspiring story reaching here told that women should have the power in decision making in the family and the society. Empowering women is according to her is to make women take independent decision in every sphere of life. Ms. Dilmani Mishra, Chairperson, Bihar State Women Commission, appreciating PHD Chamber for organizing such webinar and getting all women leaders on one platform. She also said that such event help us in learning. She emphasized that connecting with more women from village is very imperative.
