Hydrogen : The next energy-efficient and cost-effective fuel for India’s Green Future

No.PR-110 June 2, 2020 New Delhi Hydrogen : The next energy-efficient and cost-effective fuel for India’s Green Future New Delhi, 1st June 2020: PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry hosted an interactive webinar on “Innovate for a Green Future – Hydrogen Production Technology & Relevance of Hydrogen Fuel in India” with Mr. Sturle Harald Pedersen, Chair of The Board, Fiber Strength International India Pvt Ltd, Norway, and Greenstat Hydrogen India Pvt Ltd. Mr. Sturle Harald Pedersen, Chair of The Board, Fiber Strength International India Pvt Ltd, Norway, and Greenstat Hydrogen India Pvt Ltd gave an in-depth insightful presentation where he discussed the Characteristics and Benefits of Hydrogen along with Regulatory Frameworks required. Looking at the present scenario, he explained how Hydrogen Fuel can be an effective energy resource in this world of climate change and help in green future sustainability. He explained that Hydrogen is the fuel with the highest energy content per weight but its density in atmospheric conditions is only at 90 grams per cubic meter. To achieve this level of energy density, efficient comprehension of hydrogen is essential. He further explained that there are two mechanisms for creating clean hydrogen which is Green and Blue. Green Hydrogen can be created by splitting water into hydrogen and oxygen using electrolyzes and Blue Hydrogen can be produced through steam methane reforming or autothermal reforming coupled with Carbon Capture Usage and Storage. He also gave a detailed understanding of the H2 Production Method. Mr. Sturle Harald Pedersen talked about the characteristics and benefits of Hydrogen which is flexible, storable, transportable, and safe. He also gave a detailed outlook about the long-term regulatory framework that recognizes the important role of Hydrogen in the Energy Transmission. Mr. Sanjay Aggarwal, Senior Vice President, PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry in his welcome address mentioned that Hydrogen is the simplest and most abundant material available on earth and its usage in energy will help to boost the energy sector. Hydrogen energy is the way towards the future and one of the foundations for a suitable energy source. He further deliberated about the benefits of Hydrogen Fuel which has less carbon footprint, more efficient, environmentally friendly, and many more which can be the new future for the energy sector. Dr. J P Gupta, Chair, Environment Committee, PHD Chamber in his special address shared industry outlook and perspective and the need for Hydrogen Fuel for the future. Mr. Mahendra Kumar Rustagi, Co-Chair, Environment Committee, PHD Chamber, delivered a formal vote of thanks to all the delegates and participants. The webinar was supported by Prasol – Chemicals Pvt Ltd and moderated by Dr. Ranjeet Mehta, Principal Director, PHD Chamber. The Webinar was attended by Mr. Pranav Poddar, Co-Chair, Environment Committee, PHD Chamber along with over 75 arenas of industry stalwarts around the world. Ends.
