No.PR-190 July 31, 2020 New Delhi Growers & Sellers of Horticulture Crop will get Subsidy on Transportation & Storage: Shrikanth Banoth, IAS in a webinar organized by PHDCCI MP PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry Madhya Pradesh Chapter and MP State Agro Industries Development Corporation ltd. Organized a webinar on Atma Nirbhar Bharat –Operation Greens and Top to Total Scheme” on 31 July 2020. The webinar focused on operation greens and Top to Total scheme launched by Govt of India with an aim to provide support to growers and sellers of Tomato, Onion,& Potato (TOP) including all Fruits and vegetables (Total). The objective of intervention is to protect the growers of fruits and vegetables from making distress sale due to lockdown and reduce the post -harvest losses. Shri Shrikanth Banoth, IAS Managing Director, MP State Agro Industries Development Corporation Ltd, while detailing about the scheme, apprised of various steps and compliances that should be followed by claiment to avail the benefit of scheme. He informed that Top To Total is a pilot project of Government for a limited period and covers crops like Mango, Banana, Guava, Kiwi, Lichi, Papaya, Citrus, Pineapple, Pomegranate, Jackfruit; Vegetables: – French beans, Bitter Gourd, Brinjal, Capsicum, Carrot, Cauliflower, Chillies (Green), Okra, Onion, Potato and Tomato, but on the basis of suggestions of various stockholders, more crops can be included. He stated that scheme is not applicable to same crop at all places; district wise crops have been identified and classified for the scheme. For taking benefit of the scheme and claim for subsidy, one has to register on the portal of MOFPI and then claim can be submitted with registered login and password. Mr Shrikant urged all the participants to first complete the registration process which is prerequisite for claim process. Mr Shrikanth also answered the questions of participants very patiently. Dr Vijay Agrawal Dy Director Department of Horticulture, Govt of MP, and Shri D K Puranik DGM MP State Agro Industries Development Corporation Ltd, provided the technical inputs on registration and claim process of the scheme. Both responded to queries of participants. Welcome address was delivered by Mr Pradeep Karambelkar, Chair, MP Chapter, PHDCCI. Mr Sumit Agrawal, MD, Bionutrients Pvt Ltd and Chair, Food and Agri Committee of state chapter, proposed hearty vote of thanks to all the participants.
