We are a nation with immense possibilities and we have excellence in history, art, and culture. Children are not the future they are the only future and women are the better half of the population mentioned Shri Ram Mohan Mishra, Secretary, Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of India in the ‘6th WOMEN ASTITVA SAMMAN 2021 & 5th JUNIOR ASTITVA SAMMAN 2021’ organized by PHD Family Welfare Foundation, PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Shri Ram Mohan Mishra, while congratulating the awardees and the diligent work done by the PHD Family Welfare Foundation discussed the aspects of women empowerment where at one side they are not able to function well where scaling and education is needed. The other side is as a nation woman needs to understand their capability and talent so that they can be empowered. We need to leverage and harness the potential of women for integrated nation development. Women empowerment needs to have in the dimensions of social, cultural, political, and economic.

Mr. Sanjay Aggarwal, President, PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry in his presidential address deliberated about the involvement of youth-serving as agents of community change and nation development. He expressed his gratitude to students who have taken a big step by embracing their creativity & innovative ideas for the welfare of the society

He mentioned that to encourage women empowerment and motivate the students, PHD Family Welfare Foundation’s Women and Child Committee has instituted the Astitva Awards in 2016 to recognize an exemplary advocate for women empowerment and gender-sensitive workplace and to promote women empowerment. The Committee also introduced Junior Astitva Samman in 2017 where the WC committee recognizes the students who have excelled in innovation and community service towards the betterment of society.

Mr. Pradeep Multani, Sr. Vice President, PHD Chamber congratulated all the awardees Of 6th WOMEN ASTITVA SAMMAN 2021 and 5th JUNIOR ASTITVA SAMMAN 2021 and lauded the exemplary work done by the organization and school student in driving innovation, development, and progress in the nation.

Ms. Anuradha Goel, Chairperson, WC Committee, PHD Family Welfare Foundation in her welcome address deliberated about the work done in different verticals of Family Welfare Foundation that has completed 35 years this year ensuring that every sector and issue of the society is addressed to ensure nation-building.

Ms. Priya Hingorani, GB Member, WC Committee, PHD Family Welfare Foundation introduced all the delegates and mentioned that PHD Family Welfare Foundation will work diligently in serving the society and empowering women, and educating children for the future.

Ms. Sunita Trivedi, GB Member, WC Committee, PHD Family Welfare Foundation while delivering a vote of thanks to all the delegates and participants, mentioned that the recent initiatives taken by various industries, NGOs and the Government will chart a new recourse towards an astounding beginning to help create a new dimension in untapping the potential further.

The event kick-started with a national anthem and lamp lighting ceremony under the moderation of Ms. Karuna Shriram, Co-Chairperson, WC Committee followed by an award presentation ceremony. The 6th WOMEN ASTITVA SAMMAN 2021 has been given to in the corporate category-AMUL; Govt category-Trained Nurses Association of India (TNAI); Educational Institute category- Ms. Pooja Jhaver (Nirmal Bhartia School); MSME category- Ms. Gita Ramesh (KAIRALI) and NGO category-Ms. Urvashi Sahni (Study Hall Educational Foundation). The 5th JUNIOR ASTITVA SAMMAN 2021 has been given to Apeejay School, Noida- Mr. Surat Sahni; Modern School, Vasant Vihar- Ms. Ananya Sangwan and Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park- Ms. Mahak Bhagi, Ms. Devanshi Sharma, Ms. Gurleen Kaur, and Ms. Pavit Kaur. The event was followed by the spectacular performance of “AUM BALLET” by Padmashri Kathak Guru Shovana Narayan and her team.

The event was attended by Dr. D K Aggarwal, Immediate Past President, PHD Chamber, Mr. Saurabh Sanyal, Secretary-General, PHD Chamber along with many industry stalwarts pan- India.
