No.PR-62 August 9, 2018 Chandigarh INDUSTRY 4.0 TO BE ADOPTED FOR BETTER SUCCESS OF ORGANIZATIONS PHD CHAMBER OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY & KAS CONDUCT A WORKSHOP ON SKILLING WORKFORCE FOR INDUSTRY 4.0 Smart Factory, a synonym for Industry 4.0, is significant of current trend of automation and data exchange in manufacturing technologies. It includes concepts of cyber-physical systems, the Internet of things, cloud computing and cognitive computing. Addressing the growing need of Skill Development in today’s time amongst the Medium & Small Scale Industries, PHD Chamber of Commerce & Industry in association with Konrad-Adenauer-Foundation (KAF) of Germany, organised a one day workshop on “Industry 4.0” on 8 August 2018 at PHD House, Chandigarh. Welcoming the participants, Mr. Vishal Jindal, Chair, Skill Development Committee, PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, emphasized that “The Skill Development Committee of PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry is working with particular focus on MSMEs and adopting Industry 4. 0 thus enhancing the growth and productivity of the enterprises leading to Growth of India”. Mr. Hitesh Arora, Deputy Secretary, Haryana Technical Education Board, Govt. of Haryana addressed the delegates by highlighting upon the policies and work being adopted by Haryana Government to ensure skill development in the state. He further remarked that “Government of Haryana has signed over 200 MoUs with industries from across the globe so that readymade trainees may be provided to the industry thus focusing on skill development and creation of livelihood in the state” Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Jatinder Singh, Director, PHD Chamber of Commerce & Industry remarked that “The changing scenario requires a strong industry & academia interface so as to Reduce the demand and supply difference. It is because of the industry – academia interface that demand will be better understood leading to optimum manpower supply”. Concluding the Interaction and thanking the speakers for their insights on the subject, Brig HPS Bedi, Director, PHD Chamber of Commerce & Industry mentioned that “PHD Chamber of Commerce & Industry is working actively on skill development in the region of Chandigarh, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh & Punjab. He further added that the chamber shall be conducted more of such workshops across the region. The event was attended by nearly 50 senior and middle level MSMEs, entrepreneurs, executives, business professionals, entrepreneurs, sales and marketing professionals. Ends.
