PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry organized the 2nd PHDCCI Luxury Real Estate Summit with the theme – Technologies-Innovations- Investment on 13th March, 2024 at The Claridges, New Delhi.

Summit Chief Guest Shri Kaushal Kishore, Hon’ble Minister of State, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India highlighted the importance of the steps taken to provide housing for all and affordable housing which is the vision of Hon’ble Prime Minister of India. He said that there are tremendous opportunities in the Real Estate Sector. Luxury Real Estate has huge opportunity for all developers in coming years as India has huge requirement of affordable house to meet the basis necessity for all citizen.

Guest of Honour, Shri Chittaranjan Dash (IRS), Principal Commissioner, Delhi Development Authority highlighted that Government has played vital role to provide luxury housing to all and in coming 10 to 15 years has tremendous growth for real-estate sector. India has become 5th largest economy and real estate sector is the largest among others. With GDP contribution of around 13% in this sector apart from multiple effect of warehousing, school, hospital, etc., regulatory and policy changes play vital role in luxury real estate segment.

Special address was given by Shri Rajeev Talwar, Former President, PHDCCI. He asserted that this is the best time to be in the real estate due to much easier access to finance and availability of land. He stressed on cutting the red tape which will bring in more transparency. RERA has improved the transparency in the real estate sector and brought accountability for timely delivery of projects. Going forward luxury real estate has huge opportunity, he said.

Welcome address was given by Shri Amit Goyal, Chair, Housing and Urban Development Committee, PHDCCI. He emphasized that real estate sector is an essential segment of the Indian economy which has linkages with more than 250 ancillary industries and employs more than 10% of India’s workforce. The growth of the real estate sector in the last two decades has had a multiplier impact on the Indian economy. After agriculture, real estate is the second highest employment-generating sector.

PHDCCI along with CBRE released a knowledge report at the occasion highlighting the Rise of Luxury Real Estate in India. The report presented insights on the investment market outlook and opportunities in the luxury residential market.

Shri Vamshi Krishna, Senior Executive Director & Head, Valuation Services, India & Head, Consulting & Advisory Services India & South East Asia, CBRE highlighted on the rising luxury market in India and the trajectory going forward.

The Concluding remarks was given by Dr. Jatinder Singh, Assistant Secretary General, PHDCCI and he thanked the panel for their insights.

The Four Technical sessions focused on the Financing and investment, growth of asset classes, rise of modern luxury consumer and ESG practices in the real estate sector.
