PHDCCI Organises its 10th GLOBAL RAIL CONVENTION-2023

 

Addressing the industry at the 10th PHD GLOBAL RAIL CONVENTION-2023 –themed “Indian Railways Future Evolution” under aegis of PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Dinesh Kumar, Additional Member (L&A), Railway Board, Ministry of Railways highlighted the importance of the cost-effectiveness of the Indian Railways as a means of transportation and its role as a major instrument for freight development. Mr. Kumar discussed railway initiatives such as 100% electrification and other mega projects, emphasizing the growth and development facilitated by the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO). Prioritizing the Dedicated Freight Corridors (DFCs) will lead to faster transportation of goods and reduce logistic cost, while improving faster supply chain efficiency, he said.

While giving the industry perspective Shri Ranjan Dhingra, Co-Chair of the PHDCCI Railways Committee, emphasized the critical role of Indian Railways in the country’s infrastructural development and its strong support to various industries. He asserted that Indian railways are the backbone of a transformative logistics sector, poised to drive economic growth and sustainable development. Mr. Dhingra stressed the importance of initiatives like Amrit Bharat for station redevelopment and the significance of sustainable mobility infrastructure through public-private partnerships. He concluded by highlighting the immense potential and opportunities within this vast sector.

The convention received participation from senior government officials, key professionals from the ministry of railways, industry experts, diplomats & all relevant stakeholders.
