Webinar on the Stories of Unsung Women Heroes
The PHDCCI Women, Child Development and Entrepreneurship (WCD&E) Committee organised a Webinar on the Stories of Unsung Women Heroes on 28th Jan 2022. The meeting was well attended by Smt Smriti Irani, Hon’ble Minister of Women & Child Development, Ministry of Women & Child Development, Government of India, industry stalwarts Pan-India, entrepreneurs, budding entrepreneurs, number of philanthropic social workers as well as students.
Dr. Aruna Abhey Oswal, Chairperson, WCD&E Committee, PHDCCI in her welcome address mentioned that women have everything required for becoming a successful leader, an entrepreneur, an officer or any field they would like to choose. Their creativity, resilience, strong-spirit, confidence, hard work, perseverance and many other qualities that can be imbibed from them, make a woman STRONG.
Giving his presidential address Mr. Pradeep Multani, President, PHDCCI highlighted that women form a significant proportion of the work force in India. Involvement of women in all activities in all fields would ensure effective utilization of labour, generation of income and hence improvement in quality of life of a woman. They have made efficient use of the opportunities given to them over the past few decades and have proved time and again that they are no less than anyone else.
Smt. Smriti Irani, Hon’ble Minister of Women & Child Development, Ministry of Women & Child Development, Government of India during the interaction shared her journey. She also spoke about today’s unsung women heroes who have broken glass ceilings, have pushed the frontiers of women’s leadership and have paved the path for other women and girls to follow in their footsteps and become future leaders. She further said that she would be happy to help the awardees.
Ms Nandita Jain, Co-Chairperson, WCD&E Committee, PHDCCI and Director, Inox India Ltd. highlighted the challenges in a women’s life and how a women manages multiple roles.
Dr Blossom Kochhar, Co- Chairperson, WCD&E Committee, PHDCCI during her interaction mentioned that the involvement of women in all activities across all fields would ensure effective utilization of labour, generation of income and hence improvement in quality of life of a woman.
Dr. Yogesh Srivastav, ASG, PHDCCI moderated the session and invited the Samman recipients. The Samman was presented virtually by the Hon’ble Minister Smt Smriti Irani ji. Samman recipients Dr. Kriti Bharti, a Rehabilitation Psychologist for Public Service and Dr. Aquinas Edassery, Founder, Swasthya Swaraj Society & a Medical Doctor for Health Service came to share their respective journey’s and discussed intuitive questions regarding the scope work required for uplifting women in the society. Moving forward, Ms Lakhimi Baruah, MD, KMUC Bank Ltd. for Women Empowerment and Dr. Mona Mathur, an Educationist for Education Sector talked about some prevailing issues and their probable remedial action.
The formal concluding remarks were presented by Ms. Preeti Saluja, Co-Chair, Madhya Pradesh Chapter, PHDCCI and Chancellor, SAM Global University.
