Invest Punjab CEO visits PITEX fair | Employment opportunities will increase with the strength of MSMEs

Amritsar: IAS Rajat Agarwal, CEO, Invest Punjab said that due to the lucrative industrial policy of Punjab, the industry is inclined towards investing in the state. Punjab has a new identity as an industrial state and employment opportunities are also increasing continuously.

Rajat Agarwal was interacting with industrialists after visiting the 15th PITEX being organized by PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Friday. He said that due to the Industrial Policy announced by the Punjab Government in the year 2017, capital investment of more than one lakh crore has been done and Work is being done to increase it further.

He apprised that the Punjab Government has launched several schemes to strengthen the MSME sector. He stated that Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi believes that strengthening the MSME sector will not only increase employment opportunities but also provide indirect employment.

Speaking on the occasion, Director, Ministry of MSME, Government of India, Virindra Sharma said that the central government has set up a separate ministry for MSMEs and the ministry has rolled out number of schemes to the strengthen the MSME in the country. Upinder Singh Dhingra, Senior Manager, E&Y said that during the Corona period, industry faced a tough time but things are getting back to normal now.

Speaking on the occasion, Balwinder Pal Singh, Joint Director, Industries Department, Punjab said that the Punjab Government is always striving to bring about better changes in the industrial policy to facilitate the industrialists and provide a favorable environment.
