PHDCCI to organize a Hybrid Event to commemorate the WORLD CONSUMER RIGHTS DAY 2021 on 15th March 2021

PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI) is celebrating the WORLD CONSUMER RIGHTS DAY 2021 on 15th March 2021 from 5.00 PM to 7.00 PM through the hybrid mode (Virtual & Physical) at PHD House, New Delhi and Cisco WebEx respectively.

The discussion sessions will hold on the theme announce which is Tackling Plastic Pollution.

Plastic is highly useful in our everyday lives, yet a highly toxic pollutant. The problem of management of plastic use and waste, especially single use plastic, is causing negative environmental consequences in the eco systems, including land, water bodies and air globally, thus threatening human health. It is imperative for all to brainstorm to find ways to tackle the situation.

The participation will consist of Ministry of Consumer Affair, Food, & Public Distribution & Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change, UNEP, Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS), FSSAI, All India Plastic manufacturers Association and stakeholders from the entire industry fraternity including plastic packaging companies, FMCG, Municipal corporations, Researchers and Policy Maker.

The Chief Guest for the celebration is Shri Piyush Goyal, Hon’ble Union Cabinet Minister, Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food, & Public Distribution, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Ministry of Railways followed by Guest of Honour Ms. Leena Nandan, IAS Secretary Department of Consumer Affairs, Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food, & Public Distribution.

The Key Note Speakers and Session Chairs from the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India; FSSAI; Business leaders, and Corporate Leadership from the Industry across the Globe have confirmed their presence for the program.

The eminent panelist for the session include Mr. Peter Rimmele, Resident Representative to India, KAS; Prof (Dr) N. C. Saha, Former Director-Indian Institute of Packaging & Chairman-Foundation for Innovative Packaging and Sustainability; Mr. Jeevaraj G. Pillai, Joint President – Packaging & New Product Development, UFlex Ltd.

Mr. Sanjay Aggarwal, President, PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, reiterated that addressing plastic pollution will rebuild the hopes of green recovery and create an enabling environment for building sustainable plastics ecosystems in our country.
