The widespread pandemic COVID-19 has led to a national lockdown which has resulted in the slowdown of business and economic activities. While some states can control the spread, some are facing a lot of challenges with the fight against Covid-19. To discuss the issues and challenges faced by Industries of the State of Haryana during the Nation-wide Lock-down resulting by the dreadful outbreak of COVID-19 and devising the best way-out to the challenges during this hour of crisis, PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industries, conducted an interactive session with Mr. Vineet Garg, IAS, Principal Secretary, Labor Department of Haryana on 27th April 2020. The session witnessed a participation of more than 50 industry players and senior’ members of PHD Chamber.

Mr. Vineet Garg, IAS, Principal Secretary, Labor Department of Haryana, appreciated the efforts of PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry for being on the forefront to support the government and organizing such an interactive session with industry members in such times of crisis which have been unprecedented and have caused disruptions in the economy.

We understand that industry is facing a lot of issues at this hour, we have made a lot of provision regarding transportation and salaries, passes for cars and others. we are trying our best to resolve all the issues at the earliest, said Mr Garg.

Deliberating the delegates on the overview of the issues and challenges faced by industries of the State of Haryana during the Nationwide Lockdown, Mr. Vineet Garg, IAS, said that while we are facing a lot of challenges, we are trying our best to resolve all the challenges in these times of COVID-19.

The session was followed by the question and answer round were many industry members raised all their queries and challenges they are facing. Mr. Vineet Garg took note of all the queries and challenges. He assured the participants and industry members that their queries will be conveyed to the concerned ministries and forums so that they can resolve at the earliest.

Mr. Vineet Garg urged PHD Chamber to submit a representation on the issues and challenges faced by the industry along with the suggestions. He assured that the same will be taken up to the concerned ministries and government and resolved at the earliest.

Mr. Sanjay Aggarwal, Senior Vice President, PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industries gave a warm welcome to Mr. Vineet Garg, IAS, Principal Secretary, Labor Department of Haryana. He appreciated proactive measures taken by the government to combat the spread of COVID-19 and also apprised them that the members of PHD Chamber have generously made a contribution of Rs 525 Crores to the PM CARES Fund and other state relief funds. They also distributed food packets, sanitizers, masks, and other personal protective equipment and will continue to give back to society and are in full support in all endeavors of the government.

Mr. Manoj Gaur, Chair, Haryana State Chapter, PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry welcomed Mr. Vineet Garg, IAS, Principal Secretary, Labor Department of Haryana. He acknowledges the valuable contribution he has made in helping and assisting the government in every possible way during these times of crisis in the country.

Mr. Manoj Gaur also shared the issues and challenges faced by the industry while also suggesting relief measures and steps to ensure the smooth working of the industry in the country. He also moderated the session.
