PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industries Himachal Pradesh Chapter conducted an interactive Webinar on ‘Preparing Workplace amid COVID 19 outbreak for the Safety of Workforce’ with Dr. Dineshwar Singh Dhadwal, Professor, Department of Community Medicine, Indira Gandhi Medical College, Shimla on 30th April 2020. The session witnessed participation of above 20 industry players and senior’ members of PHD Chamber all over the country. Dr. Dineshwar Singh Dhadwal, Professor, Department of Community Medicine, Indira Gandhi Medical College Shimla, appreciated the efforts of PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry to organize such an interactive webinar in these critical times and said that post this pandemic, the lifestyle of people will change. Deliberating the participants on the overview of the Preparing Workplace amid COVID 19 outbreak for the Safety of Workforce, Dr. Dineshwar Singh Dhadwal discussed that post COVID-19, there will be a different challenge which we need to face and we need to prepare for the same. the social behavior will change and there will be a lot of focus on personal hygiene and sanitization. The work environment within the factories and offices will changes and developments which are essential to be adopted looking at the situation currently. Dr. Dineshwar Singh Dhadwal gave a detailed presentation on the impact of COVID-19 in the world and India. He gave a detailed analysis of the increase in the number of cases and its impact on different industries. He also gave a presentation on the preventive measures that need to be taken on the personal and organizational level which can help to control the spread of COVID-19 post lockdown. While Himachal Pradesh has successfully controlled the spread of COVID-19 and has maintained social distancing and lockdown in their states, but the situation of India is still unstable. Lockdown was essential for India, it is helping in infective control and we need to follow it, said Dr. Dineshwar Singh Dhadwal. Dr. Dineshwar Singh Dhadwal emphasized the use of masks, sanitizers, medical equipment, washing hands regularly, maintain social distancing, stopping the practice of biometrics in offices, removing shoes before entering home and other measures to be adopted at the workplace, industries, factories, and education institutions. post-COVID-19 which can help in controlling the spread. He said that it’s important to plan and prepare workforces for these changes and make sure these measures are followed strictly by them. Mr. Arun Rawat, Vice Chair of Himachal Pradesh Chapter, PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, gave a warm welcome Dr. Dineshwar Singh Dhadwal and said that there is a need to understand the changes in the management of workforce and organizational changes post COVID-19 and we need to be prepared to implement and adapt them as well.
