No. PR – 216 February 16, 2022 New Delhi Poland is also becoming a tech manufacturing hub , posing better opportunities for India to expand its trade relations with the country, H.E.Mr. Adam Burakowski, Ambassador, Embassy of Poland, India International Affairs & Trade Fairs Division, PHDCCI organised Virtual Interactive Series on Global Trade and Investment Opportunities for Indian Industry in Poland on 15th February 2022 from 15:00 – 17:00 (IST). H.E.Mr. Adam Burakowski, Ambassador, Embassy of Poland, India, recommended best solutions for combatting democratic hurdles between the countries by working on business investments, increased connectivity as Poland is a gateway to other significant European union countries, enrollment of Indian students in Poland and business to be on top priority between the countries. He appreciated India’s role during the supply chain disruptions in Poland from China and emphasized on the prominent role that India could play, going further, in strengthening their trade relations. Simultaneously, Poland is also becoming a tech manufacturing hub , posing better opportunities for India to expand its trade relations with the country. Mr Pradeep Multani, President, PHDCCI emphasized on the long-standing friendly relationship shared between India and Poland, marked by high level political contacts, vibrant economic engagement and traditional cultural links. Outbound investments from India have undergone a considerable change, not only in terms of magnitude but also in terms of geographical spread and sectorial composition. Analysis of the trends in direct investment over the last decade reveals that while investment flows, both inward and outward, were rather muted during the early part of the decade, they gained momentum during the latter half. The current global pandemic has banned travel worldwide which has made it difficult to carry out business with Indian investors, he added. Mr.S K Ray, First Secretary(commerce),Embassy of India ,Poland, focused on 3T’s namely Trade, Technology and Tourism. Their underlying objective is to enhance economic growth from these three priority sectors. He also highlighted other new diversified areas of growth in Poland like renewable energy agrofood industry, waste water treatment. Poland is a country with great promises and is an attractive destination for trade and investment he said. Mr. Radostaw Pituch, Expert, PITA, India, introduced trade agency established in 2017 to be the first point of contact for trade and investment. He provided valuable information for all the facilities made available to the investors before and after the investment. He mentioned that public funding information is key factor to promote the business. Ms. Monika Kisiel, Manager, Polish Investment & Trade Agency (PITA), Poland- in her presentation briefed about the public aid programs in Poland and incentives available for new investment. She also highlighted Polish Investment Zone and Government grants for Business Service sector & manufacturing projects. Mr. Marek Ktoczko, Vice President, Polish Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Poland ,talked about Asian trade offices to promote trade and business and also said that main focus will be on indirect investment from India in Poland. He also invited India for trade and investment opportunity in the country. Mr. J J Singh, President, Indo Polish Chamber of Commerce and Industry , Poland, gave perspective for Indian industry and guided how and where to invest in. He mentioned four industries in which India should invest are IT, agro, pharma for cooperation in generic drugs and tourism. FINTECH is also one of the key area he mentioned. Soon airline operations to be started from Poland to Mumbai. Poland is a business and investor friendly country in which India can invest in. According to him Indian business can find ground in Poland. Mr. Prabal Datta, General Manager & Delivery Head , Tata Consultancy Services, CCE, Poland, addressed that why should India invest in Poland and the main reason for investment is talent pool in both tier1 and tier2 cities of the country. potential of domestic market and its support is also one of the key reason that stakeholder should go for the business.
