No.PR-198 August 8, 2020 New Delhi PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry organised a webinar on “Investment opportunities in Bio Ethanol Sector in Chhattisgarh State” PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chhattisgarh Chapter and CSIDC (Chhattisgarh State Industrial Development Corporation) jointly organised a webinar on “Investment opportunities in Bio- Ethanol Sector in Chhattisgarh” Mr. Shashank Rastogi, Chair, PHD Chamber, Chhattisgarh Chapter, introduced the Chief Guest and distinguished guests in his welcome address. In his address, Mr. Rastogi said that Chhattisgarh is called “rice bowl of India ”, because 80 percent of the state’s population is engaged in cultivation and the main production of the state is rice. The state has a conducive environment for manufacturing bio ethanol, and the government is providing favorable facilities for investors. Managing Director Venika Bio CNG Pvt Ltd Shri Chandrasekhar Reddy welcomed the initiative of the state government. Project Officer of Chhattisgarh BioFuel Development Authority, Mr. Sumit Sarkar stated in his address that the state government has always been in the forefront of production of green petroleum. He informed that at present the government has invited proposals from investors and is also considering making bio ethanol from sugarcane along with paddy. Mr. Sarkar invited all entrepreneurs and industries to come and invest in the state. Mr. Sarkar responded to the participants’ questions. Principal Director of PHD Chamber, Mr. Naveen Seth informed the audience about the online exhibition organized by the Chamber for the first time where automobile sectors will also be exhibited in different areas and there will be discussions regarding alternative fuels. He invited the Government of Chhattisgarh to become a state partner in this event. Mr. Uday Kulkarni Assistant Vice President Praj India Limited, in his address, explained in detail about the work being done by Praj India in the green fuel production sector. On behalf of the Government of Chhattisgarh, Mr. Arun Prasad, Managing Director CSIDC, in his brief speech welcomed all the investors. Mr. Prasad briefed about the efforts and plans being made by the state government for bio ethanol production. At the end of the webinar, Dr Ranjit Mehta, Principal Director PHD Chamber proposed a vote of thanks. He thanked the Government of Chhattisgarh for organizing a series of webinars with the Chamber for inviting investment in various sectors.
