PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry applauds the merger and revival plan of BSNL and MTNL
Revival plan of BSNL and MTNL by the Union Cabinet is a major breakthrough in India’s business environment, said Dr D K Aggarwal, President, PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry in a press statement issued here today.
The move will create a competitive environment in the telecom industry and will meet the objectives of National Digital Communications Policy 2018, said Dr Aggarwal.
We are happy to know that government has considered our suggestions for the revival and merger plan of BSNL and MTNL. This will pave the way to address the long pending payments of the MSMEs from PSUs, said Dr D K Aggarwal.
The merger and revival plan of BSNL and MTNL will also give a big push to the Make in India Program of the Government in telecom sector and create new employment opportunities for growing young workforce in India, said Dr Aggarwal.
The Union cabinet has approved the merger and revival plan of BSNL and MTNL as these are important sources of communication services in the country.
It is highly encouraging that the Government plans to raise a sovereign bond of Rs 15,000 crore for revival of BSNL and MTNL, said Dr D K Aggarwal.
Going ahead, strengthening of telecom industry would play a crucial role in catering the need for modern and state of the art telecommunication services in India, he said.
The strengthening of business environment will create confidence among the domestic and global investors and will rejuvenate the economic growth trajectory of the country, said Dr Aggarwal.
