No. PR – 231 March 3, 2022 New Delhi PHD Chamber lauds Hon’ble Prime Minister vision to make India a global manufacturing hub Mr. Pradeep Multani, President, PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry appreciates the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s idea of building a robust manufacturing base in cooperation with all stakeholders including central, states, private sector, CSOs, among others. We appreciate Hon’ble PM’s emphasis on the presence of significant potential in India and his urge to the industry stakeholder to come out with ways to ensure effective utilisation of the potential to achieve our growth goals. Hon’ble PM’s urge to the stakeholders to focus on building a robust manufacturing infrastructure to promote Make in India and promote self-reliance, along with increasing self-reliance in raw material procurement would go a long way to make India Atmanirbhar in the coming times, said Mr. Pradeep Multani. We appreciate that India is promoting Make in India through enhancing exports and domestic demand in the country, said Mr. Multani. PHD Chamber appreciates that Make in India brings infinite opportunities for Indian Manufacturers to fulfil the domestic demand and meet the international quality standard of the products, said Mr. Pradeep Multani. Prime Minister’s focus on India’s ample talent, skill and resources will significantly help in achieving the goal of self-reliance not only at the domestic market but also at the international level. We are confident that India has the true potential to become a leader in Electric vehicles, with a focus on quality and minimum dependency on foreign raw materials, said Mr. Multani. PHD Chamber supports the view of PM in building a strategic approach for achieving global standards to compete in the global market, study foreign markets, and identify export destinations and diversification of the products, said Mr. President, PHD Chamber. Hon’ble PM proposed some important resolutions for fulfilling India’s domestic requirements like innovation in the sectors will provide immense benefits to ‘Make in India Mission’. We are confident that the Private sector will focus more on R&D with “zero defect, zero effect” because quality matters in a competitive world along with producing environmentally friendly products, said Mr. Multani. PHD Chamber values the idea of Common Branding with the participation of both government and private sectors to encourage Indian products in the Indian markets, said Mr. Multani. Hon’ble Commerce and Industry Minister Mr. Piyush Goyal focus on quality standard, productivity, National Single Window System, reducing compliances and innovation & R&D, would enhance India’s competitiveness not only at domestic level but also in the international market. Industry Body appreciates the view of Mr. Amitabh Kant, CEO, NITI Aayog that the manufacturing sector needs to thrive to ensure holistic growth of the economy. We appreciate NITI Aayog view on the sunrise sector as a high utility sector of genomics, semiconductors, etc will be the key drivers in economic growth, said Mr. Multani.
