GSTN CEO asks India Inc. to submit its policy related queries to Govt and those concerns that related on operational front should be given to GSTN

CEO, GSTN, Mr Prakash Kumar on Wednesday asked India Inc. to submit all its policy related queries, concerns and even suggestions to the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) whereas operational and functional related glitches regarding tax filings especially on GSTR-9 and 9A and even 9C be offered to GSTN so that pending issues are resolved for a win-win situation for tax payers and tax collectors.

Mr Kumar clarified that GSTN is a service provider to the government on GST related functional and operational issues whereas policy making stays put exclusively in the domain of the government and therefore, the GST tax filers ought to understand this distinction and exclusivity for their clarity.

Inaugurating a GST Conclave on GST Audit and Annual Return-ITC & Finalization of Accounts-Issues, Approach and Challenges under aegis of PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI) here today, Mr Kumar informed that GSTN plans to put on online version relating to GSTR-9 & 9C in next few days whereas their offline versions would be released for public usage in 2-3 weeks.

In his welcome remarks, Sr. Vice President, PHDCCI, Mr D K Aggarwal appreciated the efforts and seriousness with which the GSTN is trying to resolve all the operational and functional issues pertaining to various sections and sub-sections though some clarities are also required on many fronts particularly on GSTR-9C which Mr Kumar quickly agreed to resolve with the necessary consultations with all stakeholders.

In his theme presentation Chair, Indirect Taxes Committee, PHDCCI, Mr Bimal Jain also lauded the efforts of GSTN and several government functionaries for wider and intensive consultations with India Inc. on many prevailing issues, however, informed that a detailed representation gone to government and GSTN on issues relating to pending multiple concerns of industry both on policy front as well as operational and other parts. Co-Chair, Indirect Taxes Committee, PHDCCI, Mr N K Gupta was also present on the occasion.
