Ashok Kajaria takes over as the 70th President of PHD Chamber

Mr. Satish Bagrodia passed on the baton to Mr. Ashok Kajaria, Chairman and Managing Director of Kajaria Ceramics Ltd, who took over as the new President of PHD Chamber at a glittering ceremony at Hotel Ashoka right after the AGM. Mr. Satish Bagrodia, is Chairman and Managing Director, Winsome Textile Industries Ltd. Mr. Kajaria is going to be the 70th President in the 104 years history of PHD Chamber.

An Engineer from the University of California, USA, Mr. Kajaria is in the manufacturing of ceramic glazed tiles, a 700 crore company. Mr. Kajaria started his career by setting up a unit - Kajaria Exports Ltd, a 100% export oriented company in the year 1969. According to Mr Kajaria, India is one of the largest domestic market, an emerging Global centre and is very well positioned to take the mantle of a Global manufacturing base.

Kajaria Ceramics Ltd is also the largest exporter of ceramic tiles from the country. Ashok Kajaria is a recipient of ‘Business Superbrand’ status award – the only Indian tile manufacturer to be recognized with this award.

Mr. Kajaria is an environment conscious entrepreneur and has gone for the ISO 9001 (for quality management), OHSAS 18001 (for safety and health management) and SA-8000 (for commitment to society) certifications across its plant. These plants also fulfil international norms.

Mr. Salil Bhandari, has taken over as the Senior Vice President of PHD Chamber and Mr. Sandip Somany, Hindustan Sanitaryware & Industries Ltd. is the new Vice President of PHD Chamber. Mr. Satish Bagrodia, wished the new team all the success in the years to come.
