To attract new investments in Rajasthan, land allotment will be at 10% discount in non-saturated industrial areas of Manda, Ramchandrapura, Sitapura and Kaharani (Bhiwadi). This was disclosed at an interactive session with Mr. Alok, Managing Director, RIICO at the PHD Chamber.
Gas Authority of India (GAIL) has also assured availability of gas, an industrial fuel in Rajasthan NCR (Neemrana, Bhiwadi and Khushkhera) by January 2010. Reasonable land and gas availability, the two most important ingredients for setting up of industry is bound to attract major industries to invest in Rajasthan.
Providing housing for industrial workers will attract workers to new work places, Mr. Alok invited real estate developers to construct townships under PPP mode. The terms & conditions to be decided keeping in view the economic viability of such projects.
In case any investor needed special concessions to facilitate location of such projects in the state, the investor could send in the proposal to Bureau of Industrial development which is chaired by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Rajasthan.
In response to the suggestion of Mr. Ashok Kajaria, Senior Vice President, PHD Chamber, Mr. Alok informed that the state government shall shortly announce the ‘Early Bird Projects’ in the investment regions of Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC). It is relevant to note that 40% of DMIC with investment of $50 billion will pass through Rajasthan throwing up immense opportunities of attracting investments.
Rajasthan is offering 25% wage/ employment subsidy set-off against sales tax/ VAT; 5% interest subsidy set-off; 50% exemption of electricity duty for seven years & 50% concessional stamp duty to new projects as incentive package added Mr. Alok.
Recognizing that 24x7 availability of power was important to make Rajasthan as the preferred investment destination, MD, RIICO informed that within next 12 months 1000 MW new power projects shall be commissioned and further 1000 MW new power projects will be commissioned by 2011. The projects include Kota super thermal-250MW, Bikaner-125MW, Chhabra-250MW, Suratgarh
