102nd ANNUAL SESSION OF PHD CHAMBER
Theme : National Governance

The 102nd Annual Session of PHD Chamber will be held on 20th December 2007 in the Capital with the theme ‘National Governance’.

The luncheon session will be addressed by Mr. Kamal Nath, Union Minister of Commerce and Industry issues related to present industry scenario, hardening of rupee etc. are likely to taken up by the Chamber at the interface.

Mr. Montek Singh Ahluwalia, Deputy Chairman, Planning Commission will deliver a special address at the occasion on the theme National Governance. Various steps that have been taken by the PHD Chamber to assist both the Central and State Governments in promoting better governance will be unveiled at the Annual Session.

To coincide with the interesting & innovative Annual Session, PHD Chamber is organizing two panel discussions; one on Political Governance and other on Media Governance. The panelists on Political Governance are Mr. Sukhbir Badal, Mr. Vijay Goel, Mr. Amar Singh and Dr. Abhishek M Singhvi. Dr. Amit Mitra, Secretary General, FICCI will anchor the discussion.

The panelists in the Journalists’ Conclave on Media Governance include Mr. H K Dua, Dr. Chandan Mitra, Mr. T N Ninan and Mr. Rajat Sharma. Mr. Dilip Cherian will anchor this session.

Mr. Montek Singh Ahluwalia will also give away the PHD Chamber Awards for Excellence 2007, to recognize Indian businesses, entrepreneurs and individuals for their outstanding achievements / contribution in selected areas and to promote corporate and individual initiative in economic, social, educational, and cultural areas.

A large number of industry leaders, experts, diplomats, policy makers and industry association representatives from all over India, would be attending the programme. This year’s Annual Session is taking place at a time when Indian economy is well on its high growth path
