SHRAMEV JAYATE TO FACILITATE EASE OF DOING BUSINESS: PHD CHAMBER

President PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Sharad Jaipuria on Thursday applauded the Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi for the launch of Shramev Jayate, a success mantra that would not only create millions of job opportunities and would facilitate reaping the demographic dividend but also enhance ease of doing business, which will place India better in comparison to other countries in the global economic order in the period ahead.

With an objective of skill development, vocational training, hassle-free and conducive environment for businesses and employees, 'Shram Suvidha' portal, Universal Account Number (UAN) facility for Employees Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) subscribers and a labour inspection scheme was launched today.

“Universal Account Number for EPFO subscribers would ensure financial inclusion as it introduces portability for EPF accounts through Universal Account Number which has further been linked with bank accounts, Aadhaar card and other KYC details.” said Mr. Jaipuria.

Mr. Sharad Jaipuria commended the initiatives proposed by the Hon’ble Prime Minister and said that, the online filing of returns will help improve compliance of labour laws and a new inspection scheme which will end discretion of inspectors.

We believe, Shramev Jayate would be critical to enhance growth of manufacturing sector and its value added to the GDP. It will facilitate the firms to deploy desired workforce in their manufacturing units vis-à-vis softening procedural compliance.

He further, complemented the government for actively working towards success of Make in India which would be achieved by this initiative as the proposed portal will simplify compliance of 16 labour laws through a single online form which will improve the ease of doing business, going forward. Further, effective and economical e-governance will ensure transparency which will reduce the costs of doing business in India.

Mr. Jaipuria lauded the government for actively working towards the agenda of skilling the youth as the launch of Apprentices Protsahan Yojana will encourage employment generation. He said that Shramev Jayate will create an opportunity for India to meet the global requirement of skilled labour workforce in the coming times.

Going ahead, as asserted by Hon’ble Prime Minister, a compassionate approach would result in the "Shram Yogi" (labourer) becoming a "Rashtra Yogi," and hence, a "Rashtra Nirmaata" (nation-builder) will foster all inclusive growth in the coming times, said Mr. Jaipuria.
