MPs PROMISE MINIMUM TAXATION TO INDUSTRY

The felicitation function organized for newly elected Members of Parliament (MPs) organized by the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry here today in which four MPs participated, promised industry that their collective efforts will lead to elimination of host of unpleasant taxes and raise voices to empower industry in nation building with the government of the day.

The MPs that took part in the felicitation ceremony consisted of Dr. Udit Raj, Mr. Mahesh Sharma, Mr. Mahesh Giri, and Mr. Bharatendra Singh.  The function was presided over by President, PHD Chamber Mr. Sharad Jaipuria and assisted by its Senior Vice President and Vice President Mr. Alok B Shriram and Mr. Mahesh Gupta respectively.

While Dr. Unit Raj committed to remove red tape from Delhi’s industries department to facilitate and ensure faster taking off of pending projects for MSMEs in the NCR region. Mr. Giri promised that newly elected MPs raise issues and lobby for elimination of uncalled for taxation that have been in existence in the statute for decades.

Mr. Giri further said that Prime Minister has asked Mr. Nitin Gadkari to examine the tax structure that cause hardship to industry so that it is not subjected to multiple taxation both direct and indirect that currently number 34.   The new government would ensure that a great deal of 34 taxation which apply to industry in general under the prevailing regime pruned substantially, he referred.

Mr. Sharma was of the view that the commitment of the new government would be to catapult and transform the society in general and industry in particular with raising bars for governance in next five years.

Mr. Singh, however, added that industry would find friends in Mr. Modi whose regime would lay out a road map for industry to negotiate on it smoothly, profitably and with a sense of equity and fairness in which the evolving society would have no complaints.

The Delhi & NCR Committee of the PHD Chamber Mr. Rajnish Goenka and Executive Director of the Chamber Mr. Saurabh Sanyal appreciated the move of the newly elected MPs to have come to the Chamber to accept its felicitation.
