MOVE TO INITIATE LABOUR REFORMS IN RAJASTHAN IS IN RIGHT DIRECTION: PHD CHAMBER

PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry has complemented the Government of Rajasthan under the Chief Ministership of Ms Vasundhara Raje to clear amendments to three national labour laws namely, the Industrial Disputes Act, the Factories Act and the Contract Labour Act, describing the move in the right direction and added that if the proposed amendments are endorsed by the Centre, a good precedent would be set up, to be followed and emulated by other States.

In a statement, President PHD Chamber, Mr. Sharad Jaipuria said that industry has been seeking labour reforms for enhanced productivity, increase manufacturing  and stable work and job culture for decades and the move initiated by the Rajasthan Government is worthy of appreciation and deserves to be vastly welcomed.

The Chairman, Rajasthan Committee of the PHD Chamber, Mr. Sanjay Aggarwal also welcomed the move and added that the other reform oriented States would soon follow suit as its consequences would lead to enhanced productivity of all stakeholders in labour market.  With this, the Rajasthan Government has signaled its sincerity and seriousness to implement measures, contained in its agenda for labour reforms.
