PHD Chamber hails IMF growth projections, broad based structural reforms re-fueling growth

In the advent of Government’s broad-based structural reforms agenda, India is now re-emerging as a thriving destination for foreign investors across the globe, said Mr. Alok B. Shriram, President, PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in a press statement issued here today.

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) in its recent publication of World Economic Outlook (WEO) has stated India’s growth to strengthen from 7.2% in 2014 to 7.5% for 2015 and 2016.

India is now better placed amongst its peer’s, while leading the growth amongst BRICS economies, as economic fundamentals are improving and the economy is looking-up.

We hail IMF’s growth projections for India, as this clearly indicates a positive affirmation by leading global institutions that a shift is being observed in the global growth dynamics towards India, said Mr. Shriram.

Recently our Government has taken aggressive steps to transform India into a manufacturing hub while simultaneously negating unnecessary laws and regulations which hinder ease of doing business, he said

Going ahead, in light of improving macro-economic indicators and growing dynamism towards India to enter double-digit growth trajectory in medium-term, said Mr. Shriram.
