The Ministry of Human Resource Development has convened a meeting of all relevant stakeholders including industry associations tomorrow (17.12.2014) to chart out a future course for formation of Council for Industry and Higher Education Collaboration (CIHEC) which is likely to be kept at arms length distance from both government and industry, discloses the Additional Secretary, Ministry of Human resource Development Mr. Amarjeet Sinha.
 

The ministry has also asked all the states education ministers to be present here for a two-day conference, beginning 6th of January next month to widely discuss and deliberate on the issue of skill development so that the education system in all states also introduce choice based credit system in all educational institutions without any delay.
 

Addressing 4th National Summit on Institutionalizing Academia-Industry Interface to make the dream of Make-in-India a Reality organized by PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry here today, Mr. Sinha said that a first serious exercise was being conducted in the Ministry of HRD for unveiling a roadmap for much debated CIHEC so that industry academia interface is institutionalized to ensure mobility of both students and faculties in their respective domain.
 

The Ministry has invited all stakeholders, which include leading academia and industry associations such other institutions to take part in it and make their respective contributions so that the suggested CIHEC was constituted without any delay with equal contributions from government and industry, said Mr. Sinha ruling out the possibility of it being funded by government alone.
 

Elaborating on the 6th & 7th January meeting of the all the States education ministers, he said that it would be the attempt of the centre to roll out its vision for impart of skill developments in all education centres and evolve consensus so that the deliberations recommendations are adopted by all states for their execution so that industry stopped complaining that employable students are rear in availability, he pointed out.
 

Among others who supported constitution of CIHEC comprised the Vice Chancellor of Delhi University Prof. Dinesh Singh, President, Sr. Vice President and the Education Committee Chairman of the PHD Chamber respectively Mr. Sharad Jaipuria, Mr. Alok B Shriram and Mr. Prabhat Jain.
