SETTING-UP OF HELPDESK

The Chamber has done excellent work through its Expert Committees on various subjects. Environment protection is one of the important areas of concern to the Chamber. Environment Committee of the Chamber has been reconstituted under the Chairmanship of Shri Ashish Rakheja, Chief Operating Officer, Spectral Services Consultants Pvt Ltd  and Shri Deepak Pahwa, Chairman & Managing Director, Bry-Air (Asia) Pvt. Ltd. The  Committee consists of professionals / consultants/Govt officials and industry representatives from various  sectors.

We are  pleased to inform members that an “Environment Committee Help Desk” has been setup with a view to solving environment related problems of the members.

Objectives of Help Desk:

The objective of the “Environment Committee Help Desk  is to generate greater awareness about and to promote measures for environmental management, pollution control, efficient use of resources, waste minimization, etc.Help Desk will  assist member industries who are covered under one or more Environmental Legislations w.r.t. their compliance status as well as to create awareness towards environment improvement and abatement of pollution. The Help Desk will also provide knowledge and help in tackling  various environmental related  issues affecting the industry.

Areas of Working of Help Desk

• Environmentally sound Solutions to the Hazardous and  Non Hazardous Waste problems of the Industry
• Green Buildings
• Air Pollution EN/IN Environment
• Regulatory Guidelines :   Salient Features of Prominent Rules/ Laws
• Water and Waste water Treatment and abatement of Water and Air Pollution
• Solid Waste Management
• Energy audit

Guidelines for functioning of Help Desk:

• Help Desk would assist only those members/clients who have positive approach and commitment towards compliance of laws.
•  Industries/ clients should not expect guidance to cover any intentional or unintentional offence or violation of laws
• However it will assist the industry within legal frame for coming out from non compliance to compliance status.
•  It is expected that member industries seeking help will maintain transparency except their trade secret (if any).
•  Help Desk members will also have to ensure for maintaining confidentiality of the information furnished by concerned industries.

Member industries may request for clarification /inputs on basic problems from help desk sub- committee members which can be provided on  e-mail, provided it does not involve detailed engineering or generation of data. Members desiring clarifications on above may send their comments / queries to Secretary,Environment Committee .
